Love, Joy, Peace...
About Us

We are a church committed to an energetic ministry of hospitality. We welcome those who are seeking God’s love and grace for the first time or as lifelong believers. We do so because Jesus shows us how to welcome in the gospels, regardless of race or culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or relationship status. We welcome you without regard to addictions, physical or mental health, imprisonment, socio-economic circumstances, or anything that too often divides us. Our unity is in Christ.

Our Story
Our Story A neighborhood church, New Song is a community of faith where you can feel at home. Although we are a medium-sized congregation, we have three small worshiping communities, allowing us to know and care for the people with whom we worship. With an emphasis on personal growth and discipleship, we offer various opportunities to study God's Word and serve the mission of the church through our community ministries. New Song began with the vision of our founding Pastor David Poling-Goldenne in the year 2003 when the Anthem section of Henderson was developing. Knocking on doors throughout the community, he soon developed an energetic team of leaders who helped spread the Word and build the church. Their first worship service took place in the ballroom of Sun City's Anthem center. The congregation grew quickly, and soon we broke ground on our current location, 1291 Cornet Street, which opened in 2006. Our vision was to build a worshiping community as well as an education center, so New Song Christian Academy emerged, offering a loving environment for preschool students to learn and grow. By this time, New Song was thriving, and a second pastor was called, who happened to be Pastor Marta Poling-Goldenne, Pastor Dave's wife! In ten years, membership grew to over 700. In 2014 Pastor David was diagnosed with mesothelioma, and soon Pastor Marta resigned to care for her husband, who returned to the Lord in December of 2014, beginning a time of transition in the life of the church. In 2016 a new chapter began when Pastor Paul Block from New York City was called to shepherd New Song. With the generosity of the congregation, we broke ground on a building annex for the Academy, which helped expand our enrollment over two-fold. We have cultivated service opportunities with many community organizations. Since the Covid-19 pandemic, we have continued to proclaim the Gospel in person and online. We have renewed our evangelical outreach efforts with open doors, and we invite you to join God's mission here at New Song! Come and see!
Our Mission
Our Mission We seek to create a community of disciples, connecting people to Christ, to one another and the community around us. At New Song Church, we understand that our role is to guide people through a process of discipleship. First, we welcome people to worship and praise God through our weekend experiences. Then we encourage people to grow in faith through small groups and Bible studies. In addition, we are called to serve God and God’s people in the church and community. Finally, we are called to invite others into the beloved community of God’s grace.
Our Beliefs
We confess the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and the Gospel as the power of God for the salvation of all who believe.
We acknowledge the Holy Scriptures as the Inspired Word of God and the authoritative source of its proclamation, faith, and life. We are a member congregation of the Grand Canyon Synod, a part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
Church Council

Governance of New Song Church begins with the Annual Meeting of the voting members of the congregation, where visions are presented, budgets approved and the like. In addition, we elect the Congregation Council, which consists of 9 members plus ordained clergy. Each council member serves a three-year term, renewable once. The council selects the executive council which includes a President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary. For a copy of the monthly council meeting minutes, contact the church office.
