Welcome to New Song Church!
I’m Pastor Paul Block, lead Pastor for New Song Church. Here, we embrace the diversity of our congregation and offers worship styles to accommodate everyone’s needs. Our worship services include:
Traditional Saturday Services — Saturdays at 5:00pm
Come as you are for this relaxed Saturday evening service and follow a traditional format which includes prayers, music, the message (sermon) and communion. All who profess Jesus as their Lord and Savior are welcome to the table.
Traditional Sunday Services — Sundays at 8:00am
Officiating pastors wear traditional robes, southern Nevada temperatures permitting. Music
selections feature traditional hymns led by a choir. Prayers and the message are the same as
Saturday evening. Communion is served.
Blended Services (Traditional + Praise Band) — Sundays at 9:15am
The message, prayers and communion are the same as the traditional services, but music selections
are an eclectic blend of hymns and praise songs in a less formal atmosphere.
Praise Services/Kids’ Sunday School — Sundays at 10:30am
Praise music is contemporary, featuring guitars, keyboard, drums and vocalists provide energy for the relaxed atmosphere. Same message and time for prayer. Sunday School is available for children aged K-12. There is also a nursery available.
Communion is open to all who believe in Jesus!
Communion at all services is open to all who believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We commune by intinction, where the pastor places a piece of bread in your hand, signifying the Body of our Lord, Jesus Christ. The worshipper dips the bread into a chalice of wine, which represents the Blood of Christ. Gluten-free wafers and grape juice are also available by request.
What New Song Believes
This congregation confesses the Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and the Gospel as the power of God for the salvation of all who believe.
We accept the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament as the inspired Word of God and the authoritative source of its proclamation, faith and life.
We follow the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and are a church open to all people regardless of race or culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or relationship status.
We welcome all without regard to addictions, physical or mental health, imprisonment, socio-economic circumstances, or anything that too often divides us.
New Song Church was founded in 2002 by mission developer Reverend David Poling-Goldenne. Knocking on doors in the Anthem area, Pastor David officiated the first worship services in the ballroom of Sun City’s Anthem Center. Three years later a building project was initiated, and New Song broke ground for its current building at 1291 Cornet Street.
Pastor David’s wife, Reverend Marta Poling-Goldenne, joined him in ministry. Supported by retired clergy Rev. David Miller, Rev. Roger Snyder, and Rev. Brad Enerson, membership grew to more than 700 in its first 10 years. In 2014 Pastor David was diagnosed with mesothelioma. Pastor Marta resigned from the congregation to care for her husband, who passed away in December of that year. Reverend Kathy Morris joined the staff as an associate pastor for children’s ministry. Interim Pastor Tom Anderson led the congregation from December, 2014, until June, 2016.
In September, Reverend Paul Block from the Bronx, New York, was called to become New Song’s lead pastor.
